Who is Save Perth Hills?

Save Perth Hills is a grass-roots community organisation of volunteers.

We understand that development will occur, but it should be sustainable, and provide benefit to the region. The Perth Hills are rich in biodiversity. They are a significant water source for Perth city and remain a place for recreation and education. The Hills are Perth's backyard!

We believe in small blocks in existing townsites and villages. Higher density living makes sense when it is situated next to existing infrastructure. However, there should be no development that threatens any unique natural or cultural features such as a creek or wetland. Urban infill development which leads to sprawl is not appropriate for the Perth Hills and will destroy what is unique about the region.
